BOSCH confirms the effectiveness of ROCKY DEM for a vertical filling machine

Packaging performance improvements thanks to ROCKY DEM and OptiSLang recently demonstrated using bite-size chocolate candy

Bosch Packaging Technology’s Stefan Kirsch demonstrated this innovative simulation workflow using Rocky DEM and Dynardo optiSLang to calibrate the properties of bite-size chocolate candy in a virtual test at the Dynardo WOST Conference in Weimar on June 14, 2018.

Kirsch developed an automated workflow for the calibration of Discrete Element Method material parameters, such as friction, coefficient of restitution, and rolling resistance. Using ROCKY DEM and optiSLang together led him to state, “Validation tests proved the predicted quality of the calibrated model. For the sample product and scenario, the model used has high accuracy”.
