As highlighted in a previous post, Rocky 3.11 has gained several new post-processing tools that greatly improved many common user tasks typically accomplished after simulation processing is complete.
These new features were added based upon user requests from our customers. When we in Rocky Support receive a user request that we are not able to effectively resolve with the current version, that request gets added to a list to consider for future releases. (No, we do not put them in a drawer and throw away the key!) Based upon the popularity of each request and the impact the changes will have upon our customers’ use of the application, these requests are then prioritized to be included in an upcoming version.
And the Rocky 3.11 release is noteworthy in this regard! From a user perspective, the range of information that can be extracted with these new post-processing features is impressive. Calculating global particle size distributions, getting time-averaged particle volume fraction information, tracking particles, generating surface plots of the stress tensor components—these common tasks are easily accomplished using these new tools with uses including but not limited to process design, mixing efficiency, and machine design.
In order to better illustrate how these tools can be useful for our customers, as well as to keep them updated with the latest Rocky improvements, we have added a new section to our Customer Portal called “News and Announcements”. This section will be regularly updated with short posts covering new features and sharing usage examples as soon as they are included in Rocky.
To stay up-to-date after each release and always get the most of Rocky, we strongly encourage you to Follow the new News and Announcements section on our Customer Portal (Figure 1).
Below you can find some images of upcoming posts that will be included in this new Customer Portal section. Don’t miss them!
